History

NHC Group started with the acquisition of NHC in June 2006. At that time NHC was the largest private audiology practice in Australia with 39 hearing centres covering every major state in the country. These sites were originally built up over an eight year period. We have dramatically extended our position in the Australian market since acquiring NHC through an aggressive growth plan executed over the last 30 months: our network of hearing centres now covers all major regional centres with further expansion underway. This growth is all organic, i.e. we open our own centres, recruit the best professional staff in the industry and roll-out a very effective hearing care business.  All of these hearing centres are full time sites with qualified audiologists and support staff in every centre.

Our new business in New Zealand, National Hearing Care New Zealand is also 100% owned by NHC Group. The intent for New Zealand is quite clear – we like the market and the level of sophistication in the New Zealand market. It is well recognized as a country which is committed to hearing health which is reflected in the high level of care provided and the quality of the professionals in the industry.

We have much to draw on from within our Australian business, but New Zealand is a distinct market, with distinct market conditions and requirements. As such the New Zealand business is being run as unique and separate organisation….while at the same time allowing both the Australian and New Zealand practices to draw from each other.
